Questions people ask
What does it actually do?
It parts the hair and works shampoo down to the skin, then lifts the oil, dead skin and product residue sitting there. Most people wash their hair and never really wash their scalp — this is the difference between the two. You'll notice it most on day two, when the roots haven't gone flat yet.
Will it pull or damage my hair?
No. The tines are rounded soft silicone with space between them, so they move through wet hair without catching the way a brush or your nails do. Use small circles rather than dragging it in straight lines — that's what causes tangling with any tool.
Does it work on curly, fine or treated hair?
Yes, on all of them. It's working on your scalp rather than your hair, so texture doesn't change much. For curls, use it on wet hair with conditioner still in. For fine hair, light pressure is plenty. It's safe on colour-treated and chemically treated hair.
How often should I use it?
Every time you shampoo is fine. If your scalp runs dry or sensitive, two or three washes a week is a better starting point. Firmer isn't better — the tines do the work, and pressing hard just irritates the skin.
How do I use it?
Wet your hair, apply shampoo, then work the massager in small circles across your whole scalp — hairline, crown, behind the ears, down to the nape. About ninety seconds. Rinse it under the tap and leave it to dry. Nothing to take apart or maintain.
